Our home

This is our home. For the moment at least...we love this house, it's cute, has beautiful lawn and back yard both nice size...there are many things we love about this house. BUT! there are many things that get on our nerves, like it's in a really scary neighborhood and we don't want to raise kids in it. The front and back yard are nice sized, but we'd like more land. it's old, like really old. the laminant flooring is freezing! the water preasure, well for example, if you want to take a shower you better have like an hour of time chalked out of your schedual because nothing comes out of the faucett! all the water in the entire house has to be turned off and then it still has sperts of nothing coming out, it is really dumb. oh and did i mention it's old! there are a few more little things about the house that bother us so we wouldn't want to live in it for the rest of our lives. but there's no way we'd be able to turn around and sell it in 5 years because Wasilla is growing so much no one wants this house now, why would they want it in 5 years when Wasilla is bigger and the home is older!? Therefore we looked into getting a new or newer home. We looked around for about 3 months looking at building a home, getting a bigger home but still old, getting a little home with a bunch of land that we could build on in the future, buying a new home...there were a million opions. we prayed and prayed and prayed about it. Finally for our price range we found something that both of us think is the best. We are building a home, well paying a contractor to build one for us! it will be bigger than the home we're living in now. still 3 bed rooms 1 bathroom but there will be a laundry room and a pantry and an entry and it will be bigger and brand new!! We are so excited! oh and it's on a whole acre of land! They are pouring the foundation today! I've gone by every day this week because they've done something new each day! It's amazing. they tell us they should be done in one month! So i got to start packing!.....

Happy Valentines Day!

Our very first Valentines day as a married couple....it was wonderful! I made heart shapped pancakes for breakfast, although some looked more like mickey mouse. Jake even made me dinner! We relaxed and just enjoyed our time we had together.

Still in-season

Yes, basket ball is still going on...Jake's enjoying coaching but not enjoying being gone all the time. He has 3 away games-tournies in one month! I miss him but at the same time I know there's only 2 more weeks!! YAY! here's some pictures of our life for the time being

Fund Raiser

One of our friends is a pro singer and him and his family just found out he has throat cancer. My mom and his wife are friends through their Mary Kay, and I babysat her two kids three days a week for about a year then off and on now-and-then. We've known them for quite a while. They were having a fund raiser for him and his family on sunday all day so we decided to go after church. Hearing about some of the details we found out there was a bunch of things to do for kids so we asked my mom and dad to bring Gabby! They had a lot to do, it was a little carnival. We had so much fun with Gabby doing games and getting her hair done. She sat so still for the lady! They had a lot of other things to particapate in for adults, Jake entered a drawing and there were silent auctions and live auctions and live music the whole time...we didn't say long though, we just wanted to get out there to support our friends.

Jake's going to be such a good daddy....
Crazy hair!!!

Our weekend in Homer

Our weedend in Homer was so much fun. Jake went down Thursday on the bus with the basket ball team and I headed down on Friday after work. I met him in Soldotna then he drove us on the Homer. We stayed with my grandparents Friday night and Saturday night and left after church and lunch on Sunday. We didn't get to Homer on Friday until 9:30 pm so by the time we talked for a few minutes we were ready to go to bed!! From 11:30 until 5:00 on Saturday we were at the basket ball games, which by the way we won all of our games! woohoo GO PALMER! Then after the games we had dinner and played cards with RJ and Donna at my grandparents' house. We had lots of fun. And don't worry Jason...for failing your only job!
