Little House

Back in October we got a car seat for when we had our baby. The box was huge so I thought it would be fun to make a little fort for Jesse out of it! Well it was a big hit, he LOVES that house! He takes books in there and reads to himself, he chased the kitty inside and out of it, peek out at me through the windows....so after a few days of playing with it it started to look worn out so I was trying to come up with a way to keep it strong. I decided to try paper machete! So one day while Jesse was sleeping I covered the whole box with it! Then let it dry for a few days and then let Jesse paint it for the next few days! He loved it, we used brushes and hands...and he still loves that house 3 months later, and it seems like it will last a long time, plus it looks adorable :)

Turtle Project made with a child's fist!

This turtle project is super cute if you make sure and draw in the details! Make your child's hand into a fist and stick out their thumb like you're making the letter "A" in sign language. Paint the top of their knuckles and thumb and then after it's dry draw with a marker the details!

Painting with friends!

Snowman project for older kids

This is a fun project for kids probably 2 and older. I took white paint and painted the edge of three different size cups to make the snowman. Then let Jesse paint snow, depending on how old your child is you can chose to have them paint on the same piece of paper as the snowman or a different piece and glue the snowman on. Jesse is two so I glued the snowman on after the snow he painted was dry. Cut out buttons, a nose, hat and arms and have your child place them on! I showed him which circle to put them on and also what they were supposed to be so that they wouldn't be all over the place...I added googly eyes and that was the end!

I'm so proud of my little girl, she's been sleeping in her co-sleeper so well! All we do it read her a book, wrap her up, kiss her goodnight and she goes to sleep all by herself. I'm so glad she's developed such good sleep habits already so we wont have battles when she gets older. And also we get the bed to ourselves and actually get some sleep woohoo!

Baby's first project

"Free Paint"

Its fun to help make your child's hand into a dog or ghost, but other times it's fun just to let them go crazy with the paints!! You can edit them into scrapbook pages or wall art after it's dry. Jesse gets to "free paint" at least once every other week.

New Beginnings

I'm changing my blog a bit...I'm going to do it mostly on my new baby Macey and crafts that i do with her and the other little boy i watch because i think its important to do projects with kids no matter how young they are! It helps them be creative and helps them be proud of the work they do. Also it gives moms a chance to compliment them and tell them what a good job they did in an age where we are always having to say "no" or "you're not doing that right" to them. I hope you can copy some of my ideas and do them with your children! The crafts you can save and the memories will last a lifetime!
